In the series Posthuman Utopias (2023-ongoing), I design speculative cultural models, alternative to humanism, anthropocentrism, capitalism and patriarchy. Through various media (drawing, objects, storytelling, words), I adapt and subvert cultural symbols of dominance, designing an alternative society and bringing nonhuman presence to history, as well as imagining a reality after Animal Liberation.
Inspired by herstories and mockumentary attempts, as well as Frederic Jameson’s concept of “utopia as method”, I attempt at increasing nonhuman presence in historical narratives and images.
